"Luigi Danieli" Scientific & Technological Park of Udine
The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, using its competence in the fields of research and technological innovation, has defined some policies and financial tools to build the ideal platform for the creation of a regional system of research and innovation. The Regional Administration decided to finance the creation of the Scientific & Technological Park of Udine, whose best localisation is the ZIU District, a strategic hub for the significant economic and entrepreneurial operating in the area. The Park was officially opened on November 16, 2004 and covers an initial surface of over 30,000 square metres.
The mission:
The activities organised by the Park will be targeted to some of the main strategic sectors for the Friuli economic system and excellence in universities and research centres operating in the territory. In particular, its main objectives are: to promote innovation, to facilitate a dialogue between the university and business worlds, and add value to the territory by creating and spreading technology and knowledge.
The Scientific & Technological Park of Udine is opened to:

• company R&D laboratories
• certification and service centres
• help desks and districts (University, Chambers of Commerce, etc., Assindustria - Udine), Apre (Agency for the Promotion of European Research), Area Scienze Park and other European Scientific Parks
• Competence centres
• International research institutions.
The Scientific & Technological Park of Udine - which occupies a development area of about 50,000 sq. m. granted by the Consortium - is also an incubator of research spin-off and high-technology start-ups.
