The Consortium
The institutional purpose of the Consortium is to promote "the necessary conditions for the creation and development of production activities in the industrial sector" in the Udine Industrial Area, and its activities are all aimed at achieving this goal.
INSTITUTIONAL LAYOUT
The Consortium for the Industrial Development of Central Friuli
was founded in the mid 70’s by the following public
and private subjects, who are still today the owners of
about 96% of its shares:
•
Municipalities of Udine (41,2%), Pavia di Udine (3,82%) and
Pozzuolo del Friuli (2,86%);
•
Province of Udine (32,51%);
•
Chamber of Commerce Industry, Agriculture, Craftsmanship (10,56%);
•
Cassa di Risparmio (bank) of Udine and Pordenone (4.8%).
The transformation of the Consortium into a Public Economic
Agency (Regional Law #3 dated January 18, 1999) not only extended
the participation in the Agency to the businesses settled in
the ZIU District, but also granted the Agency planning authority
over the relevant territory.
THE CONSORTIUM'S ACTIVITIES IN THE ZIU DISTRICT
The Consortium carries out its activities in its premises located
in Via Grazzano n° 5 in Udine, while the territory falling
under its competence is the “Zona Industriale Udinese” (ZIU,
or Udine Industrial Area or District).
The Consortium is the owner of the following infrastructures,
located in the ZIU District:
- Road networks and relevant appurtenances;
- Drain and sewer systems, including pipelines and water softener;
- Public lighting installations;
- Railway connections;
- Water supply network, including distribution network and wells;
The Consortium’s activities are:
1. Adoption of territory planning tools;
2. Territory management;
3. Planning and implementation of urbanisation and service works;
4. Acquisition and expropriation of areas;
5. Promotion for the settlement of production activities;
6. Maintenance of infrastructures, green spaces and railway installations;
7. Management and maintenance of water softener and technological
networks;
8. Management and maintenance of public lighting installations.
